Permeability tests on draining plastic core of DRENOTER panel
What is permeability?
It is the attitude of a body to be passed through by water
How can be measured in laboratory tests?
It can be measured by means of a permeameter cell
Which is the difference between natural gravel and plastic stones permeability?
The value of permeability of gravel has a wide range between 1 x 10-6 m/s and 1 x 10-3 m/s, depending on the grain size, shape and clay-silt content; on other hand the plastic stones filling DRENOTER have a selected shape and grain size, that guarantees a constant value of permeability around 1 x 10-4 m/s
Is it possible to foresee the permeability under load of the plastic stones filling DRENOTER ?
Other tests have been carried out to check the drainage properties of the DRENOTER under load due to soil push.
The plastic stones have been compressed with step load of 0- 0,2-1,0 Kg/cm2, the value of permeability mantains good in the range of 1 x 10-4 m/s
Pollution tests on draining plastic core of DRENOTER panel
How can be guaranteed that the plastic stones will not pollute the water passing through DRENOTER panels?
The plastic stones filling DRENOTER have been tested keeping in direct contact with water for 10 (ten) days at a temperature of 40 °C.
The following water analysis show that no polluting element over the limit of law has been detected.
